Main Sitaron Ka Tarana, from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, was a inK(isho)redibly naïve, and cute,
declaration by Mr Kumar that he preferred paanch
rupaiya barah anna* to the gorgeous Madhubala.
Ms Bhosle (A)shared
singing credits with him.
Majrooh
Sultanpuri penned the song, which was five minutes and 47 seconds long, and was
composed by S D Burman.
(*Note: An anna was equivalent to 1/16th
of a rupee. Four annas were equivalent
to 25 paise, and barah anna, which
means twelve annas, were equivalent
to 75 paise. So, he wanted her to pay him Rs 5.75.)
