Sadly, Geeta
Dutt’s association with O P Nayyar lasted only a few years. But they seemed to
have developed an undersT(h)anding.
Given that the composer
was always called a stubborn man, that must have been quite a feat.
Nevertheless, it
resulted in quite a few gems. One of these was Thandi Hawa Kaali Ghata, the solo from Mr. & Mrs. ’55.
If one were to
draw up a list of the ten best songs of the pair, it would be unfair if this
song, which was penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri, failed to make the cut.
