The festive
season is upon us in India, but Holi is quite a few months away.
But do we need a
reason to celebrate it? No, because Holi
Ayee Re Kanhai, from Mother India,
was (Bad)a(y)unique song – while it was about the festival of colours (and the
harbinger of spring), the film, which will celebrate its diamond jubilee this
year, released the week Diwali (the festival of lights) was celebrated.
The track, which
was a couple of minutes and 51 seconds long, was rendered by Shamshad Begum, penned
by Shakeel and composed by Naushad Ali.
