While listening
to Yun Hasraton Ke Daag from Adalat, which released in 1958, one
wouldn’t blame the listener if he/she were tempted to misspell the title of the
film as Ada(-E-)Lat(a), which means Mangeshkar’s
style.
It was a track
tailor-made (or, to be more accurate, soldier-made, given composer Madan Mohan’s
stint in the Indian Army) for the songstress.
The highlight,
of course, is the unforgettable verse, which was penned by Rajinder (Krish)and
can be translated to, “I’ve washed the stains of desires in love, and cried while
discussing what’s in my heart with my heart.”
