Kumar did deliveRa(a)hit that’s (Kisho)relevant

In life’s journey, co-travellers meet only to part. And they leave us with memories, which, in moments of loneliness, torment us.

That’s a translation of the philosophical Jeevan Ke Safar Mein Raahi from Munimji (1955).

There were two versions of the track – the male version (by Kishore Kumar) and the female version (by Lata Mangeshkar).

But it (Ab)has* to be stated that the former continues to be more popular.

It was penned by Sahir Ludhianvi, and the (Bur)man who composed it was none other than S D.

[*Note: Kumar’s (Kisho)real name was Abhas Kumar Ganguly.]
