It’s because Mr
Ali (Naus)had a long career as a composer, that it’s easy, particularly if one
isn’t in the know, to assume he did just that. But that wasn’t true. The
maestro dabbled in film production as well.
He juggled the
two roles for the second – and last – time* in 1955. The film was Uran Khatola, and the song was O Door Ke Musafir, which was rendered by
his protégé Mohammed Rafi.
It was penned by
Shakeel Badayuni.
(*Note: Babul, 1950’s second-highest grosser,
marked Naushad’s debut as a producer. He scored its music too.)
