track, translates to, “The gaze is in one place, and the target is elsewhere”.
Although Begum,
who rendered it, had the Midas touch, she was over(Sham)shadowed by a bunch of
prolific peers.
But, of course,
it’s for the quality of her voice, and not for the number of tracks she lent it
to, that her fans remember her fondly even today.
The track was
penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri and cOmPosed by Nayyar (one of a select group of
music directors under whose baton she delivered many hits).
