All(am)are aware
that Muhammad Iqbal penned the patriotic song Saare Jahan Se Achcha (in 1904).
Ludhianvi penned
Cheen-O-Arab Hamara, the Sa(hi)rcastic
track from Phir Subah Hogi, which
released 54 years later.
The latter [which
which was composed by Khayyam, and, in fact, contains the second line of Iqbal’s
song (Hindustan Hamara)] was three
minutes and 28 seconds long.
It is 59 years
old, but one thing is (Ar)absolutely certain – nothing has Ch(in)anged in hamara Hindustan, with respect to the
gap between the privileged and the downtrodden.
Mr Mathur, who
could’ve been rechristened Mockesh, rendered it.
